COVID or NOT
While the world is distraught over the happenings, Covid-19, political unrest, racial tension, and natural disasters, the anticipation of what might come next plagues people's hearts and minds everywhere, something is brewing; something is in the air; something big is about to happen. Are we being warned before a gigantic storm, or is it the end? Are we coming to the brink of the prophetic tribulations? Unless we can see in the future, one must wonder, what do I need to do? How to prepare for something I do not know? I am convinced that it is time to look into the different possibilities; what is the meaning of these conflicts? Research; what might come next? Only the prudent who observes and acts can survive. One of the most alarming aspects of Hurricane Katrina's devastation of New Orleans in 2005 was the fact that the city's vulnerabilities had been well-documented and understood. The city's leading newspaper, The Times-Picayune, had devoted several days of coverage and cautioned that it was "only a matter of time before South Louisiana takes a direct hit from a major hurricane." In contrast, on January 15, 2009, US Air Flight 1549 landed in the Hudson River. A bird strike took out the Airbus A-320's engines. Many speculated that the pilot could have turned back to land at New York's LaGuardia Airport. The prudent pilot knew that waiting before he acted could have been disastrous. He acted, and all 155 people aboard survived. How about you and me? Are we watching and learning from what is happening around us? The world is still closed down, and the prospect of going back to the old easygoing ways is not likely. The racial tension is escalating and going viral. The Covid-19 pandemic exposed the weakness in our ability to survive such attacks in the future. Christians are getting more closer to God in a personal sense than ever before. More people are confessing their faith in God than ever before. Harvest Fellowship's pastor-evangelist, Greg Laurie, noted that "over a million people" had watched Harvest Fellowship services over just one weekend last month, resulting in thousands of salvation prayers. By May 2020, Greg Laurie says 45,000 people have given their life to Christ through the online ministry since the lockdown began. By today, over 100,000 people confessed their faith in Christ on Harvest Online. On the dark side, the anti-Christians factions are being more vigilant. Just heard the filthy Bill Maher on TV calling the Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, a 'f***ing nut' Catholic. Everything is drawn further apart. People are divided; the good and the evil are more distinct from each other. They are no longer as blended; instead, they vent their convictions and unleash their disagreements openly. In Matthew 13:24-30 , Jesus told a parable about the enemy that is secretly planting weeds among the wheat of the man's field. The man responded by giving his servants the instructions to let both grow until the Harvest (the end time), distinguish the weed from the wheat, and pull out the weed for destruction without mistaken them for wheat. Obviously, the Lord speaks of allowing evil to grow and be distinguished from the good that their condemnation is unquestioned. To allow the good to grow, to become more visible, to be separated without compromise, lest they are destroyed with the evil ones. See the Harvest is the time of the end where the Good and Evil are distinctly separated for his Judgment? Again in Matthew 24:42-44 , Jesus warns his followers to stay awake, to be alert for they do not know on what day your Lord is coming and must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when they do not expect. No matter when he is coming, our instructions are to be on guard. But what is that mean exactly? This is a wake-up call to assess where we are with the Lord, who will judge the world. Jesus rejected many that will come to enter the kingdom of heaven by his solemn words, "Depart from me I never knew you." ( Luke 13:25-28 - Matthew 7:22-23 - Matthew 25: 1-13 ) Those are the ones who thought that they believed in God. So how can they be rejected? It is evident in John 3:16 ; God loved us so much that he provided the price for all our sins in the atonement of Jesus Christ, and by believing this truth, we receive our eternal salvation. The challenge is our belief; is it real? Is it alive? Faith proves itself in action. James 2:14-20 Let me show you an illustration. Suppose you ingested a poison or received a poisonous bite from a killer viper; you will most likely be so anxious to receive the antidote. You would not hesitate, thinking I will get to it when I get to it. The proof of our belief in Jesus Christ is our clinging to him. Since he is the source of my salvation, my life, I will never stop talking with and about him. If you genuinely seek him, he will be found by you and will converse with you. Don't wait; you will not have a chance when time ends. It is not difficult; some of you already believe in Jesus Christ, then spend time with him. Share your heart with him and share him with all; else, your belief is not real, dead. For how can you say I believe and ignore so great a salvation? Hebrews 2:3 . If you have never put your faith in him, this is your time. It is simple. The scripture in Romans 10:8-10 says that if you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. So make your confession known to all and walk with him, talk with him. He delights in your companionship. We put together a website to help everyone in their walk with the Lord.
